What is this?

A restrictive covenant review usually looks at the wording of non-compete, non-solicitation, non-dealing, confidentiality, and related clauses, together with the employee's role, access, and the business interest said to justify the restriction. The legal question is normally whether the restraint goes no further than reasonably necessary to protect a legitimate business interest.

Relevant law often includes contract principles on restraint of trade, the factual role of the individual, and the commercial context in which the restriction was agreed.
